Cattleya Melody Fair ‘Mishima’ is a selection of a hybrid registered in 1988, resulting from the cross between C. Stephen Oliver Fouraker and C. Horace. Its lineage brings together different Cattleya species and reflects decades of horticultural selection aimed at obtaining large, showy flowers and plants with good cultivation characteristics. ‘Mishima’ corresponds to a particular selection within this hybrid, whose value also lies in the genetic and horticultural history it preserves.
Care
Care
They require the substrate to dry completely between waterings. Avoid waterlogging, as their roots are sensitive to excess water. During spring and summer, waterings will be spaced out, gradually increasing towards autumn, and suspended every 15-20 days during winter. They benefit from high ambient humidity of between 60 and 70%. They thrive in well-lit spaces, avoiding direct sun exposure, which can quickly burn their leaves. Apply fertilizer before the flowering season to stimulate the formation of stalks and improve the size, quality, and quantity of their buds and corollas.
