Epidendrum radicans is a vigorous terrestrial or epiphytic orchid native to tropical America. Its stems produce aerial roots and elongated leaves, while its inflorescences bear bright orange flowers with a distinctive yellow labellum. It can bloom for much of the year and tolerates varying light and humidity conditions. Its ability to establish itself in different environments reflects the remarkable plasticity of some tropical orchids and their importance as part of plant diversity.

Care
It requires a porous medium that retains moisture. It can grow in a mixture of garden soil with plenty of gravel, fine bark, charcoal, and organic matter. It is one of the few orchids that thrive in direct sunlight; to keep the stems short and encourage abundant blooms, it is recommended to expose it to the sun for several hours a day. It can tolerate maximum temperatures of up to 35 °C and minimum temperatures of up to 5 °C.
